How to play Grapple Grove

Swing across six compact groves and land on top of the green ledge. Hold a reachable numbered anchor to attach a rope. Release to keep your momentum, catch another anchor if needed, and approach the landing from above.

  1. Solid outlined anchors are within reach; dashed anchors are too far away. The hook does not pull you instantly to a new position. Your current distance sets the rope length.
  2. Hold to swing under gravity. Releasing removes the rope while preserving your velocity. Catching another anchor can redirect your motion, but it adds no hidden forward boost.
  3. Land while descending, with your whole circular body over the green ledge. Rocks, platform side collisions and leaving the grove end the attempt. Retry is immediate; completed groves unlock the next route.

Controls at a glance

Touch or mouse
Press and hold a numbered anchor, then release your finger or mouse button. You can also choose an anchor from the selector and hold the large Hold to swing button.
Keyboard
Tab to an anchor or the Hold to swing button. Hold Space or Enter to attach, release the key to let go. The anchor selector chooses the target for the large control. Release rope is a separate accessible action.
Pause and recovery
Pause freezes both the rope and flight. Resume retains an attached rope; use Release rope when ready. Leaving the tab or a long frame stall pauses automatically. New attempts keep unlocked groves and best times.

A few things worth trying

  • Wait for the swing to build speed before letting go. Releasing immediately usually drops you beneath the next anchor.
  • Catch the next anchor while it has a solid outline. Hook reach is limited, so letting the body drift too far can close that opportunity.
  • The landing is a platform, not a target you can touch from any direction. Release on a path that returns downward onto its top.

Good to know

Are these real swinging physics?

The body accelerates under gravity. A taut rope limits its distance from the anchor and removes outward radial motion. Releasing keeps the current velocity; there is no teleport or release boost.

Can I shorten the rope?

No. Rope length is fixed when attached. Release and catch a different reachable anchor to change the swing.

What saves between visits?

Unlocked groves, the selected grove and each best successful landing time are saved locally. A mid-flight attempt starts fresh after refresh.

What if I pause while holding?

The rope stays attached and the physics stops. After Resume, use Release rope or hold and release the swing control. This prevents an accidental fall when lifting a finger to pause.

Are all six groves possible?

Each has a complete recorded attach/release path verified through the same physics used in play. The final crossing uses three anchors. Your timing determines the flight.
