How to play Block Garden
Place the three offered pieces on a ten-by-ten board. Complete any row or column to clear it. In Endless garden, keep planting for a higher score until none of the remaining pieces fits. Today’s challenge instead asks you to clear a target number of lines using one fixed tray.
- Choose a piece, then choose the top-left corner of its footprint. The dashed green preview shows exactly where it will land. Press Place piece to commit.
- Pieces cannot overlap or rotate. In Endless garden, use all three pieces before the next tray arrives. Daily challenges never refill the tray. A full row and column clear together, including their shared square.
- Each planted block earns one point. Every cleared line earns ten more, with a ten-point bonus for every additional line cleared in the same move.
Controls at a glance
- Touch or mouse
- Select a tray piece, select a board corner, then press Place piece. The separate confirmation protects against misplaced taps.
- Keyboard
- Tab to choose a piece. Tab into the board and use arrows to move the preview, then Tab to Place piece and press Enter.
A few things worth trying
- Check the entire tray before planting. A large shape may need a space that a small piece can easily block.
- Leave straight corridors and open corners, not just scattered single holes. The next tray may contain long or L-shaped pieces.
- Crossing a nearly complete row with a nearly complete column can clear both at once and earn a bonus.
Good to know
Does the board fill over time?
No. Only the pieces you place occupy space. There is no timer and no falling-block pressure.
Can I rotate a piece?
No. Each piece must fit in the orientation shown in its tray preview.
Does progress save?
Your endless board, tray and score save separately from the current daily challenge. Switching modes preserves both. Daily progress is restored by replaying its legal placements. Three authored puzzles with horizontal and vertical mirrors form twelve rotating UTC daily variants, not a new unique puzzle every day.
