How to play Hidden Hazards

Guide a small traveller through six compact platform courses. Reach the green exit by reading the clue, choosing when to jump and waiting when the path is unsafe. Each course adds a rule you can use in the next crossing.

  1. Hold a direction to walk and press Jump while standing on a ledge. A jump has a fixed height; pressing again in midair adds no lift. Falling beneath the course or touching active thorns ends the attempt.
  2. Cracked ledges start a short countdown when you land. Their clay stripe shrinks until they disappear for the rest of that attempt. Retry restores the original course.
  3. Tall thorn columns cycle between WAIT, GO and SOON. GO and the dashed warning are passable, but the returning solid column is dangerous. A green pressure plate opens the purple gate when stepped on.

Controls at a glance

Touch or mouse
Hold Left or Right to walk. Tap Jump with another finger while moving, or use the keyboard to jump while holding a direction with the mouse.
Keyboard
Focus the course and hold Left or Right. Space or Up jumps once; key repeat does not trigger extra jumps. P pauses. Direction buttons also support holding Enter or Space.
Recovery
Try again restores the same course immediately. Pause and backgrounding freeze the simulation and release movement. Resume is explicit. Completed courses unlock the next one.

A few things worth trying

  • Leave enough space before an edge to launch. A higher ledge reduces how far a jump can carry you before landing.
  • Treat each thorn patch as a whole obstacle. Landing on its far edge still touches the thorns if your character has not cleared it.
  • On cracked ledges, prepare the next jump before the countdown stripe disappears. Waiting for a better view can remove your footing.
  • Wait outside a timed column, then cross while GO is visible. SOON is a warning to finish crossing, not a new safe window.

Good to know

Are traps invisible?

No. The title describes learning unfamiliar hazards. Every shipped trap has visible geometry, a clue or a timing label; there are no unavoidable surprise deaths.

Are all courses possible?

Every course has a recorded movement-and-jump route replayed through the same collision engine used in play. The route changes inputs only, never character position.

What is saved?

Unlocked courses, selected course, failed-attempt counts and best successful times save locally. An unfinished run starts fresh after reload.

Can I skip the timing?

The courses have no time limit. You can pause or stop on a permanent ledge to read a clue, but cracked platforms and active thorn columns still follow their visible rules.
