Daily Letters
Seven little chances. One word for today.

How to play Daily Letters
Find a five-letter English word in seven guesses. The daily word is shared by UTC date, with a separate practice mode for another round. Read the clues carefully: repeated letters have a limited number of copies.
- A check mark means the letter is in the right place. A double arrow means a remaining copy belongs elsewhere. A dash means no unmatched copy remains. Symbols accompany the colors.
- Exact matches use their copies first. If the answer has one E and your guess has two, only one E receives a matching clue. Incorrect or repeated submissions do not use a guess.
- The daily attempt cannot be reset by switching modes or refreshing. Daily results are saved in this browser. Practice can be restarted separately, with confirmation after a guess.
Controls at a glance
- Touch or mouse
- Use the alphabetical letter buttons, Delete letter and Check word. The field grows as you submit guesses, up to seven rows, so the keyboard stays closer to the current word.
- Keyboard
- Tab to the guess field, then type letters, Backspace and Enter. Tab also reaches every action and letter button.
- Daily and practice
- Try practice keeps the daily attempt intact. Back to daily restores it. If midnight UTC passes while the page stays open, Start today’s puzzle appears without changing the puzzle you are solving.
A few things worth trying
- Start with a word containing several different letters to learn which ones may be present.
- A gray repeated letter does not erase an earlier green or yellow clue. It can mean there are no additional copies.
- Use the seven rows to compare positions. A letter marked elsewhere cannot occupy that same position in the answer.
Good to know
Which words are accepted?
This version uses a hand-selected English vocabulary rather than a complete dictionary. An unsupported word is rejected without spending a guess. The nature-inspired answer bank is fixed for this version and eventually cycles.
What happens when the day changes?
Daily identity uses the UTC calendar date. Your open puzzle stays in place until you choose the new day; reopening the page starts the current date while keeping old results.
Can I share without giving away the answer?
After finishing the daily round, Copy daily result shares only the date, attempt count and colored clue rows. If clipboard access is unavailable, a selectable text box is provided.
Is this an online competition?
No. Results and up to 400 daily histories live in this browser. Clearing browser storage removes them; there is no account, server score or anti-cheat system.
