Mine Meadow
A quiet meadow. A reason for every step.

How to play Mine Meadow
Learn on three fixed deduction boards, then explore the classic 7×7 meadow with eight mines or seeded 9×9 and 11×11 boards with twelve and twenty mines. Reveal every safe square to win. A fresh generated board keeps the first reveal and its neighbors safe; learning boards already begin with a safe opened region.
- A number tells you how many mines touch that square, including diagonals. Empty areas open together.
- Use Flag mode to mark suspected mines. Flags are limited to the selected board’s mine count and remain assumptions, not confirmed answers. Explain a deduction uses shown numbers and your existing flags; check the flags if its conclusion seems wrong.
- Reveal every safe square to win. Reopening a number clears its covered neighbors when the number of surrounding flags matches it. Incorrect flags can make this move dangerous.
Controls at a glance
- Touch
- Tap to reveal. Switch Flag mode on to place or remove a flag. Switch it off to reveal again.
- Mouse
- Click to reveal; right-click to toggle a flag.
- Keyboard
- Tab into the meadow, use arrow keys to move, Enter or Space to activate, and F to toggle a flag.
A few things worth trying
- Start near the center to reveal an open area. The first reveal always has zero neighboring mines.
- If a number has exactly that many covered neighbors, they must all be mines. Flag them, then compare adjacent numbers.
- When your flags match a number, check that every flag is logically justified before reopening it. A matching count alone does not make the flags correct.
Good to know
Does progress save?
The exact meadow, opened squares and flags are saved in this browser when local storage is available. Refreshing does not reroll the mines.
Is every board solvable without guessing?
The three fixed learning boards have complete verified paths using local number-and-flag deductions. Generated classic and larger seeded boards can require more advanced logic or a guess; they do not carry a guess-free guarantee.
Do I have to flag every mine?
No. Victory requires revealing every safe square for the selected size. Flags are an optional reasoning tool. Modes save separately, including the classic board, seed, action count and personal fewest-action win. The same seeded mode, seed and first reveal reproduce its initial layout.
