How to play Lane Runner
Run through a garden course of solid gates, low rails and overhead arches. Change lanes to an opening, jump a low rail or slide beneath an arch. Clear twelve rows for one full route phrase, then try twenty-four. The run continues until a collision.
- Solid green gates cannot be jumped or slid through. Change lanes early enough for the runner to reach an opening. The runner moves across the track rather than teleporting.
- Clay rails are low: jump as they approach the dotted foot line. Purple arches have an opening underneath: slide through. A jump or slide must finish before another can begin.
- A row counts only when the full obstacle footprint has passed. Practice speed remains constant. Daily routes use a shared UTC date and repeat the same course for everyone that day.
Controls at a glance
- Touch
- Swipe left or right on the track to change one lane. Swipe up to jump or down to slide. Four visible buttons provide the same actions without gestures.
- Keyboard
- Focus the track. Left/Right changes lanes, Up or Space jumps, Down slides and P pauses. Holding an action key does not repeatedly trigger it.
- Recovery
- Pause stops the route. Backgrounding, blur or a long frame stall also pauses; Resume is explicit. Run again repeats the current route. New run confirms before replacing a started attempt.
A few things worth trying
- Read the next row cue as well as the shapes. Green solid gates, low clay rails and open purple arches also carry MOVE, JUMP and SLIDE labels.
- Do not start a jump when a rail first appears at the top. Wait until it nears the foot line so you are still airborne across its full depth.
- Finish passing the current row before crossing toward the next opening. A late lane change can still collide with the gate you are leaving.
Good to know
Does the course get impossibly fast?
No. Orchard stroll and Garden trail have different constant speeds. Authored rows preserve enough separation for lane changes and posture recovery. Daily routes rearrange the same tested phrase.
What is saved?
Your selected mode, best row counts for the two practice routes and up to sixty dated daily bests stay in this browser. Active runs start over after refresh.
Can I jump while sliding?
No. The current action must finish first. You may still change lanes while jumping or sliding.
Why did I collide after changing lanes?
Movement takes time. Collision uses the visible runner footprint during the crossing, not only its intended destination lane. Choose an opening before contact.
Does a daily run change at midnight?
The UTC date is fixed when you start a fresh route. A run already in progress keeps its course and records its result against that date.
